Ripley Church of Christ is
one of thousands of individual congregations making
up a voluntary fellowship of believers known as
Christian Churches/Churches of Christ, commonly
referred to as the Restoration Movement. We accept
without reservation Jesus Christ as the Divine Son of
the living God and we acknowledge His leadership in
all things. We accept the Bible, the Word of God, as
the only infallible rule of faith and practice for
all Christians. We accept the restoration of men and
women to the New Testament Church as the true basis
of Christian unity. Like the New Testament Church, we
are self-governing.
The terms of admission into
membership are those revealed within the New
Testament. We have accepted this plan of Jesus and we
do not presume to add to it or take from it.
Believers in Christ make a public confession of their
faith and are baptized by immersion. Immersed
believers from other communities are accepted by
transfer of membership.
We have no conference,
convention or earthly ecclesiastical authority over
us - only Christ and His Word. We seek the unity of
all believers in Christ upon the essential matters
and the freedom of local congregations and individual
Christians in matters of opinion.
